Begin Here

And so, like a rocket on the launch pad, the Explorer, fresh off the rack with an alignment, new plugs, and freshly rotated tires, is packed.
The giant new camping box is lashed to the carrying platform, full of camping gear, with a boogie board bungeed to the top. A test of glue, staples, and screws. Not enough screws? We'll see.
The rocket box is on top of the car, stuffed with more gear, mostly luggage. And it's one of the bigger rocket boxes. The next size up can house a family of St. Bernards.
The Explorer itself contains a large dog crate, a cooler, a kitchen box, and miscellaneous goodies for camping and comfort. There is still room for people. I think.
The iPod accoutrements are loaded. The iPod itself is loaded with about 8 days worth (according to iTunes) of podcasts of This American Life, RadioLab, Science Friday, and Stuff You Should Know. And another 8 days worth of music - Abba to Zappa. Green Day to Blue Hawaii. Wicked to Rocky Horror. You get the idea - We can listen to audio for the entire trip, awake and sleeping, and not even have to hear a repeat track. Who says this isn't a great time to be alive?
So the car is packed - mostly.
Where are the people?
